Privacy Policy
We collect only what we need to make your reels, and we don't sell your information. Here is exactly what we keep and why.
What we collect
- Your cell phone number, to sign you in and to text you codes and "your reel is ready" links. We check with the phone company that it's a real cell number.
- Account names you choose (like "Joe's Pizza"). They show on reels you share.
- Your videos and photos, the words spoken in them (turned into text for captions), and the reels we make.
- Payment records (what you bought and when). Card details go straight to Stripe; we never see your full card number.
- Basic usage: when you sign in, which device, which shared links were opened, and your ratings of reels.
How we use it
- To make, store and deliver your reels, and to show you their status.
- To improve quality: your thumbs up/down tell us which editing worked.
- To prevent abuse (for example, one free trial per phone).
We detect where faces are in a picture so words don't cover them. We do not identify who anyone is (no face recognition).
Who helps us (and sees only what they need)
- AI services (through OpenRouter, for example Anthropic and Google models) look at frames and transcripts from your clips to pick moments and write captions. We send only what each task needs.
- Amazon Web Services runs our servers and stores your files.
- Bandwidth sends our text messages. Stripe handles payments.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram) measures our ads; see Cookies below.
- PostHog shows us how people use our site so we can fix confusing spots; see Cookies below.
We don't sell or rent your personal information.
How long we keep it
We keep your uploads and reels while your account is open so you can make changes and new versions. Deleting a draft deletes its videos. To delete your whole account and everything in it, email us from the address below; we'll do it within 30 days. We keep payment records as the law requires.
Cookies
We use one cookie to keep you signed in, one to remember which shared reel brought you to us, and one to remember which of our ads or links you clicked to get here (for 30 days), so we know which ads work.
We use Meta's pixel on our site to see which of our Facebook and Instagram ads lead to sign-ups and purchases. It tells Meta that a visit or sign-up happened, using Meta's own cookies. We don't send Meta your phone number, your videos, or your reels. We don't sell your information.
We use PostHog to see which pages people visit, what they tap, and when something breaks, including short screen replays. Anything you type, like your phone number, is hidden in those replays. PostHog keeps them for 30 days and uses its own cookie to tell visits apart.
Children
SaucyReel isn't for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Your choices
You can rename or delete drafts, stop texts by replying STOP, cancel a membership any time, and ask us for a copy of your data or to delete it.
